Dining Colombian Style locally in Mississauga, On

Same dish two different locations...both outstanding!

Same dish two different locations...both outstanding!

It is always great when you find ethnic cuisine from other destinations locally. This weekend my foodie friend and I found Colombia Mía Restaurant in Mississauga Ontario. The owner Alfonso is from Medellín, so, more authentic you could not ask for other than being IN Colombia.

The restaurant is a very family-friendly, relaxed atmosphere type restaurant. With the beautiful South American sounds playing for your enjoyment.  The food as absolutely divine, and I know my friends and I will return.

Pargo rojo

Pargo rojo

This dish is an iconic dish of the coastal regions of Colombia. It's a whole red snapper fried served with crispy plantains, white or coconut rice(I recommend the coconut rice), and a salad.

I had a dessert called the Sweet Sofia. It is ripe plantain, cheese, and guava paste in a fried dough. Omg, soo good!

The name of this dessert escapes me at the time of this post, but, it was soo decDent and delicious, it is sure-fire MUST eat.

All in all, this quaint restaurant is dishing out phenomenal local Colombian cuisine. And if it's good for the local Colombians who live here, what more do you want....you MUST eat here!!
