Dining Cuban-style in Toronto

It's the truth

It's the truth

I love food, and anyone who knows me, knows that. When I travel local cuisine is at the top of my list to experience. Dining locally on local cuisine is a great way to become one with a destination.  Taste the flavours of different regions of that destination and give your tastebuds an explosive treat.

Living in Toronto offers me the delicious opportunity to taste the ethnic flavours of the  Caribbean, South America, Asia, Africa, Europe, , and then some.  And with all of this great food, we have fantastic food events, which only adds to the appetite.  Speaking of food festivals, Summerlicious is on its way as well as Taste of Toronto and many other great foodie events, which are surely great ways to experience a destinations local flavours when you aren't travelling to that destination.

This weekend my great friend and I experienced a bit of Cuba at the Mambo Lounge.  This place has been voted the city's BEST mojito, and after drinking, I believe that.

What I loved was the fact that the food was not heavy, overdone and or drowning in seasonings.  Everything tasted fresh, was very appealing to the eyes and palette.
