You Should Know: The Barbados Museum

Bridgetown is Barbados's capital city, and has heaps of personality and charm. It is situated in the Southwest corner of the island., it Hashtags a beach at both ends of town. Talk about a perfect opportunity. I did not know that the entire downtown area and south to The Garrison was recognized by Unesco in 2012 as a World Heritage site for its historical significance, and there are many notable buildings, monuments and museums. Bridgetown is also the best place to enjoy local cuisine at local prices. 

The Barbados Museum was established in 1933 and has about 500, 000 artifacts. It is set in a former prison, and is home to many engaging displays on all aspects of the island's history.
